This is a forum launched by Nhat Mlinh School in Da Nang. The students were asked to share thoughts about the roles of schools in the future. Here are some posts we would like to share with you.

The school wilt be like a small city. Classes will be held in traditional classrooms as well as in places like fast food restaurants where students will learn how to run a business, or in a nursing home where they will learn to take care of others. In short, learning will be more hands-on.
(Trường học sẽ giống như một thành phố nhỏ. Các lớp học sẽ được tổ chức trong những lớp học truyền thống cũng như ở những nơi như nhà hàng thức ăn nhanh nơi học sinh sẽ học cách để hoạt động kinh doanh, hoặc trong viện dưỡng lão nơi họ sẽ học cách chăm sóc người khác. Tóm lại, học sẽ thiết thực hơn.)

Self-study will be valued. Students will have more freedom to choose whether to go to school on certain days and for certain lessons. Class attendance check-up will no longer be used. Students will be able to stay at home and follow the lessons online, or study the topic from other reliable sources. Learning will be more individually- oriented, and thus be more effective.
(Tự học sẽ được đề cao. Học sinh sẽ có nhiều tự do lựa chọn đi học vào những ngày nhất định và những bài nhất định. Việc điểm danh tham gia trên lớp không còn được dùng nữa. Học sinh có thẻ ở nhà và theo dõi bài học trực tuyến, hoặc nghiên cứu chủ đề từ nguồn đáng tin cậy khác. Học sẽ mang tính tự giác hơn và vì vậy hiệu quả hơn)

The school will no longer be the only evaluate which decides whether a student is allowed to enter university. Society will also be part of this evaluation through the activities a student has performed outside class.

Schools will be more responsive to changes in society by constantly tailoring their curriculum and activities. In so doing, they will greatly contribute to the development of the economy and help keep society safe.
