GRAMMAR
    Do you know...?:
Do you know...? - Relative clauses give more information about someone or something by defining or identifying the nouns that precede them in the main clause. They usually begin with the relative pronouns `who`, `that`, `which`, `who`. - Sometimes we omit the wh-pronoun or that - Mệnh đề quan hệ cung cấp cho người đọc thông tin về một người hoặc một vật bằng cách làm rõ nghĩa cho danh từ đứng trước nó trong mệnh đề chính. Mệnh đề quan hệ thường bắt đầu bằng một đại từ quan hệ là who, that, which, whose. - Đôi khi, chúng ta có thể bỏ đại từ quan hệ. Example:
Example: I don`t use the desktop (which/ that) my parents bought me five years ago. - Relative cclauses are divided into two types: defining relative cluases and non-defining relative clauses. - Non-defining relative clauses can not use the pronoun `that`. Example: This is my new tablet, which (not "that") uses the latest digital technology. Defining and Non-defining:
Defining and Non-defining - A defining relative clause tells which noun we are talking about: Example: I like the woman who lives next door. (If I don`t say `who lives next door`, then we don`t know which woman I mean). - A non-defining relative clause gives us extra information about something. We don`t need this information to understand the sentence. Example: I live in London, which has some fantastic parks (Everybody knows where London is, so `which has some fantastic parks` is extra information). 1. Read and decide:
    1. 1. Read the following sentences from GETTING STARTED. Underline `which`, `that`, `who` and `whose`. What are these words used for? Decide if the clauses are defining or non-defining relative clauses. They`re the modern devices that have changed they way we learn. 2.
