    Sao la: This incredibly rare antelope species was only discovered in 1992.  Nicknamed the "Asian unicorn" due to the single horn on the male's head, Saola are elusive creatures living in the Annamite Mountains along the border between Vietnam and Laos.  Habitat loss and poaching threaten their survival, with estimates suggesting only around 50 individuals remain.
