The table describes the trend of literacy rates in Sunshine country from 1998 to 2007. As can be seen from the data in the table, the literacy rates in Sunshine country rose slightly from 50% in 1998 to 53% in 2002 in Lowlands. There was a dramatic rise in 2007, it reached to 90%. In Midlands, the rates increased gradually by 5% in 2007. In contrast, there was a slight decrease in the rates of literacy in Highlands in the first four years from 1998 to 2002.
