Look at the pictures and guess about the faity tale The Princess and the Dragon. Who do you think maybe the characters in the fairy tale? What may happen in the fairy tale? Listening 1:
1. Listen to the fairy tale The Princess and the Dragon and correct the following statements. 1. Once upon a time, there was a king, a queen and a prince. 2. One night, a giant captured the princess and put her in his tower. 3. On day, a dragon heard the princess sing for help. 4. She forgot the Beast and his castle. One day, she had a terrible nightmare: the Beast was very ill and about to die. Beauty went back to the castle . She cried and said, “Please don’t die, Beast! He suddenly found a huge castle and went inside to find nobody. The next day, the Beast woke up and her father becomes imprisoned by The Beast. The Beast decided to let him go only if he promised to send Beauty to this castle. The merchant agreed and ran back home. He cried and told his daughters about the Beast. But Beauty loved her father a lot and agreed to go stay with the Beast. The beast treats her well, and gives her expensive gifts and riches. Beauty learns to love the beast, but only as a friend. One day, her father was very ill and dying. She went to the Beast and pleaded and cried, “Please let me go home! I only want to see my father before he dies!” and the Beast allows her to leave only if she promises to return a week later. Beauty stayed with her family for seven days and more. She forgot the Beast and his castle. But one night, she had a terrible nightmare in which she saw the Beast was very ill and about to die. He was crying, “Beauty, please come back!” She went back to the castle. She cried and said, “Please don’t die, Beast! I will live with you forever!” The Beast miraculously changed into a handsome prince. He said, “I was under a curse all these years and could only be relieved when someone fell in love with me. I am now cured of the curse because you truly love me.” And then, Beauty and the Beast were married and together they lived happily ever after. Writing 2.b:
