Vocabulary 1:
Vocabulary language barrier (n): absence of communication between people who speak different languages Example: They were cheap labour because the language barrier kept them from realizing the extent of their exploitation. Vocabulary 2:
Vocabulary cultural difference (n): the inclusion of diverse people in a group or organization Example: In America, people shake hands, and even hug other. But in India, for example, hands are joined to say namaskar. Vocabulary 3:
Vocabulary communication channel (n): A medium through which a message is transmitted to its intended audience, such as print media or broadcast (electronic) media. Example: There are many more communication channels today than there were 50 years ago, where print, tv and radio were the main vehicles. Vocabulary 4:
Vocabulary shrug (v): to draw up and drop (the shoulders) abruptly in a gesture expressing indifference, contempt, ignorance, etc Example: I asked him how he was, and he replied with a shrug. Vocabulary 5:
Vocabulary glance (v): If you glance at something or someone, you look at them very quickly and then look away again immediately. Example: She threw a glance at him. Read the vocabulary:
