The MBTI, Understanding Yourself and Others. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, MBTI, is a personality assessment tool that helps you understand yourself and others better. It is based on the idea that people have different preferences for how they focus their attention, introversion or extroversion, gather information, sensing or intuition, make decisions, thinking or feeling, and deal with the outer world, judging or perceiving. By combining these preferences, the MBTI identifies 16 personality types. Understanding your type and those of others can help you improve communication, relationships, and career choices.

Exercise 7. SPEAKING Work in groups. To what extent do you think personality tests help a high school student in choosing a job or career?
Ảnh
I believe personality tests can be extremely helpful for high school students in choosing a career. These tests provide insights into their strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. For example, a student who scores high in creativity might consider careers in design or the arts. By understanding their personality traits, students can narrow down career options that align with their interests and skills, which can save them time and prevent them from pursuing something they might not enjoy in the long run.
answer 1
In my opinion, personality tests can give students a starting point, but they shouldn’t rely on them entirely. While these tests offer useful guidance, they don’t take into account all factors, such as a student’s evolving interests, academic strengths, or external influences like job market trends. It’s important for students to explore various careers through internships, volunteer work, or shadowing professionals, rather than basing their decisions solely on test results.

Exercise 7. SPEAKING Work in groups. To what extent do you think personality tests help a high school student in choosing a job or career?
I don’t think personality tests are particularly useful for high school students when choosing a career. These tests often give broad and generalized results that might not accurately reflect a person’s true potential or capabilities. Moreover, a teenager’s personality is still developing, so the results might not be reliable. Instead of focusing on tests, students should prioritize exploring different fields and gaining real-world experience to discover what they truly enjoy and excel at.
